look at the end of the crank, where the belt is.
if there is float on this. (moves in and out), crank gone
Also try turning over by hand |

I would have a look at the wiring in the drivers door hinge area.
Probably a broken thick wire.
If there are lumps in the wire this could be a break |

Worth ago contacting an LR dealer.
They have been recalling the 2005 towbars this month, so maybe they have funds or good customer service! |

Just remember, when you want to use Main beam, you will also have to turn the headlight switch on  |

gearbox can be removed BODY ON.
You need to plan what you are going to do with the transfer box. i.e can it say in, (probably not) or do you remove first to reduce weight.
