Gearbox temps in this country are usually a non issue
The highest I'd ever seen in my own cars was 106 degrees, while climbing the M6 at Shap, with a trailer and RRS on the back, 3300kg in total

The blocks are horrendous for corrosion in by the seals
Not that it helps now, but if there not leaking, don't touch them |
