This is the only time in my life I forgot to close the sunroof and it rained all night Big Cry

I cleaned the car but it smells inside even after 4 days, I think I will sell it because of this Sad

Any idea how to get rid of the bed smell? I allready left it 2 hours full heat to dry. Big Cry

I had an MG fill with water due to problem with roof/cover - the dealer took carpet out and put it and car in the oven they used for curing paint overnight and was good as new Embarassed

If you have a garage could you use a fan heater and dehumidifier Question

With the way the electrics are in these things and you do that Shocked Shocked

The only thing you can do it let it dry fully. Perhaps try and get the carpet up if you can as if it was prolonged, you may find there are puddles of water under there too. Until you get rid of it all, you won't be able to combat the damp smell.

Do you have or know anyone with and extractor(wet vac). Could be worth buying one (around £75) and making sure you get as much water out of the carpets as possible.

A good dehumidifier left inside the car with the windows closed and the drain running outside will have it back to new Thumbs Up

Could also try for an insurance claim (broken sunroof) Whistle Dave.

as said I would look at soaking it up as much as possible, wet vac, dehumidifier, i would also look at taking the centre console apart

You could also try cress seeds, they impregnate the carpet and soak up all the water whilst growing in the carpet Whistle

Do you think this will do the job? It costs £94.97 at Argos and I will buy it only for this problem.

looks ok, do you park on the flat as this review says it doesn't like slopes

"I bought two of these because I had a condensation problem. They do the job but are sensitive to being on slightly sloping surface. I had one in a caravan and it would not work until I repositioned it. Otherwise they are fine. Good value. Fairly quiet but noisier than expected."

Looks good although you'll need to remember to regularly empty the 1.5l tray otherwise you'll have a bigger problem Laughing

Don't forget a wet vac too...there will probably be a lot of water under your carpet.

I have 2 of these on my boat and there great, you should get a hose supplied so it can drain continually but as i said on my other post make sure all the windows and doors are closed or it will just suck all the moisture out of the atmosphere. You could leave it in the boot as it will then be on a flat surface and could drain through a grommet under the tool tray. Try and get as much water out as possible by other means as others have suggested and strip down the centre console and dry out.

Once dry go to www.furnitureclinic.co.uk and get there leather care kit (£24.95) and clean and treat the leather which also put back the new leather smell, I've used there stuff to treat the boat, cars and suite in the house and find it really good.

Good Luck Dave.

I had the same issue on a different vehicle & it caused havoc with my electrics esp the seats.
Once all dried out and you want it smelling nice again...
Buy a Yankee Leather Scent candle set it up in the passenger footwell and burn it for as long as possible.
Mmm mmm it will smell just like new again.

Think I would give it to a detailer and let him sort it out, may be no more expensive than buying this or that and doing it yourself MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys
