Thanks mate, just located them.

Good news is they are still draining, bad news is I can see from the top they are beginning to corrode!

Just now need to decide on if I have a go myself or ask my local indie to swap the steel tube.

I wonder if some rust eater in the top would prelong their life?

Not sure I fancy pulling on the headliner or pulling strips off the roof!

Easy job to get trim off roof for access, mine was starting to rust but not to bad(14 plate l494)

I used a Wire bottle brush on a drill inside the tube to clean any surface rust off, then a small bit of sponge on a stick to apply a few coats of rust eater, then when dry applied some stone chip with the same sponge on a stick
Got wifey to put around a gallon of water down each tube as I checked up the headlining

Same here. Rustproofed and hammerite. One of those jobs where preventative is better than remedial. Evoque HSE Dynamic

I have done mine today - a very easy job* used a stainless insert ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334158179851 ) and JB Weld to epoxy in place. I also used rust converter (Jenolite) first although there was no real sign of any corrosion (I live within half a mile of the sea so was very surprised).

* don't do what I did and remove the outer panel strip on one side it is a bar-steward to get back on and stay flush on the forward edge and I need to get some replacement clips Big Cry Whistle MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)
