There is no float listed separate for the for the tank, so if there is a actual float it is a integral part of the tank, I imagine the push in sensor picks up a signal from the float in some way which seem a little complex way of doing it, as the only electrical connection/plug appears to be just to the sensor, but based on the construction and shape of the tank not sure where the float would actually be located in the tank

That is the push in sensor not a float.

Ah, I see the sensor probe bit must go through the middle of it, that makes more sense how it would work, and would explain why it is integral with the tank.

Yea bloody annoying tank design on my old tank it was free to move I could hear it bouncing around when drained and off the car but it must have gone bad absorbing the water and sinking. |

The advantage of this method is that there is no way the sensor can cause a leak. So clever.
