Just had my TDV8 daily drive through an MOT, passed without problems, except front brake pads so all good.
Except the garage said the egr valves might need to be replaced as I am getting engine light come up and this seems to be the problem.

He said that if I get a remap carried out they can delete the egr from the ecu, so it will resolve the problem.

Anybody know about this or any other reason why a rempa might be a positive on this car.

FWIW It is my daily driver, (most of the time) and covered 148k miles, so its no garage queen.

I decided to remap mine out rather than replace the egrs although I decided to blank them also as I have heard of the egrs breaking up and going into the engine it's rare but I decided to go the whole hog, I was also happy with the power before hand but as I was doing it thought I’d have the mild tune but what I noticed straight away was how much better the throttle response was when pulling out on roundabouts etc it is so much better on light throttle 👍 Clickadeeclick

How much did you guys pay for the remap? Did you much of an increase in mpg?

In order to get more power (via the remap) you need to put more in so in general a remap will slightly reduce MPG - having said that, once you get used to it you may notice a slight gain as you have more power when you need it and you don't have to push your right foot down so far, so a slight gain may be possible

BAS is the place to go as they are pioneers in tuning  "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

I’ve never seen a remap advertised without a mpg increase before - is this mpg loss a nuance of the RRS?

SvenGB, really surprised at that as most remaps offer an increase in power not MPG

Any credible tuner will tell you if you want more power then in order to get that you have to fuel more so in general if you use the power you will reduce the MPG but as previously said, once you get used to the power you might notice a slight increase.

If a tuner says you can have more power and a higher MPG they are not being very honest and in order to give you more MPG they would have to de-tune your car.

I had mine remover and remapped by Ian Bodsworth think all in was around 600£ 61 AB 5.0 supercharged rocket
