Good call. Change mine at 3mm as a) 2.7t aquaplanes quite nicely and b) at that level they are starting to get a bit rubbish when pulling trailers around fields.

275/45. It's within 1% of the rolling circumference of the 255/55/19s fitted at the moment and only 20mm wider.

But being a cheap Disco3 driver, it may be a while before a suitably inexpensive set of 20s come up

So then, heard a lot bagging out the Conti's and I tend to agree....although I did get 45K km's out of mine. But they flat spotted a lot and wore out on the edges. Mind you I was running them a little low on pressure for a long time (around 35psi). I now run them at 40psi and they seem better.

What is the consensus on what to put on? Mine is on the road 90% of the time, so I want a quiet tyre. Spoke to a tyre dealer in Sydney today who stocked Conti's, Pirelli's and Michelins. He tried to sell me the Pirelli Scorpions.....any experience with those?

I guess I want the quiteness of the Conti's, but also reasonable wear with a bit of off road ability

That the legal minimum is just that, and that changing your tyres a little earlier may just be the sensible thing to do?

I always look to replace mine a little early but how early depends on the season. If we're heading into winter I tend to replace earlier than I might otherwise. 2021 L494 D300MHEV Autobiography

I hated Conti’s on my Sports. Edged off all the time.

Switched to Pirelli’s and no edging, good handling and reasonable longevity (24,000 on the front and 30,000 on the back).
