2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Have you seen the depreciation on PHEVs and ZEVs? The top 10 worst depreciation cars in 2016 were not Lux barges and big SUV's but things like Nissan Leaf which after 3 years is worth 16% of the purchase price. OK so it doesn't cost as much as an RRS to buy but at least you get a bit of your money back when you come to sell the RRS, even if the RRS losses the equivalent to the value of a Nissan Leaf in 3 years. The only PHEVs/ZEVs that seem to hold any value are the range extender BMW i3 and i8 and the Tesla S even Muddy's Mitusibishi isn't that greater at holding it's value - are people worried about the cost of replacement batteries at 7 years old? My parents have a friend who bought a Renault Zoe in 2015 to replace his Honda Jazz and wanted to upgrade to the latest one with 180 miles range instead of his 80 miles.............. part exchange value was ZERO, the Renault dealer didn't want it back and he had lost £18000 in 12 months.............. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Depreciation is a little worrying but I did get big discount and tax incentives so hoping it will soften the blow Confused

The pure EV like leaf don't fit everyone use and some batteries are leased which may be part of the depreciation issue

The phev should fare better thanks to petrol engine backup making it more practical and having seen my £60k RRS worth £36 after 2 years it can't get any worse having paid £25k new for the phev and planning to keep it 3-5 years

Still a lot of sceptical fossil fuel burning owners out there which doesn't help but hopefully once they see the future isn't as scary as they thought things will improve Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
