England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Having run my new RRS2 for coming up 3 weeks now I am convinced that I made the right decision in trading in my RRS1, even if there are updates in the pipeline.

The 2 cars are completely different and the improvement on the last model is very noticeable and welcome. By hanging on and on before ordering all you are doing is letting your current vehicle depreciate when you could be enjoying a totally new driving experience.

With all the talk on the forums regarding updates I almost didn't go for my new car, but I am very glad that I didn't let the scaremongering put me off.

Jim

Exactly how I feel.
I want the new model now not in eighteen months time because of a few minor ( or even major ) upgrades.
Life's too short to be waiting for that.
I bought a new car 6 months ago and am going to get my arse slapped massively when I change but I really dont care.
If you're willing to spend that amount on a car you desire then waiting even longer for it makes no sense IMO.

Just like any technology, always out moded by the time it comes to the mass market, as stated life is too short.
But I think I will wait a 12 month!

None of this is new or a big deal...land rover have always launched a model then increased its spec

In September 2014, EURO6 engine requirements come into force. None of the current engines meet these standards, except the Hybrid AFAIK. This means that for 15MY there has to be major changes to the engine lineup. Additionally if we look at the lifespan of the V8 Diesel engines to date, the 4.4TDV8 will be due a change by the summer. The 3.6TDV8 was in production from 07MY-10MY (4 years). The 4.4TDV8 has been in production from 11MY and will be 4 years by September 2014, where it can no longer be in production without significant changes.

I don't see how that changes anything though.

There are new engine line ups all the time...by the same token the change from 4.2 to 5l the deletion of the TDV8 from the line up, the addition of the hybrid to the new line up after launch.

There are and will always be, changes, facelifts etc. They changed colours mid run when the supplier problems started Exclamation Mike

Yes but engine changes kill residuals.

Yes and no...more no.

Anything can kill the residual when you are selling...everything increases the price when buying. Exclamation

Yes, Santorini became temporarily unavailable following the tsunami so Sumatra (old Disco/FL colour I think) was used for a short period in 2011.

So now a Autobiography with out the Dynamic stuff.

It shows left hand drive though. And lots of funny options, so I don't think that's the UK one yet.

It's pretty similar to what was there a month ago, although some of the then-standard are now options.
