When are you going Kam? I am pretty well booked up in May but also have a mountain of KLM airmiles to use before they grab them back. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Sumatra Black

I've just received the new X5 brochure, but had to ring the dealer to check it wasn't the OLD X5 brochure? It looks so much like its' predecessor: virtually identical from the front, unchanged from the side, and like an overweight X3 from the back. The stance does look slightly more aggressive, but I really think this is a missed opportunity for BMW. The original version was extremely popular, so you could argue "why fix what aint broke," but nevertheless the the outcome is more of a facelift than a completely revised model.

Performance and economy in diesel doesn't appear improved either, with 0-60 in 8.3secs and urban driving being only 11.3mpg? I'm sure I had similar figures or better on my own X5 Diesel Sport when I had one. And talking of Sport.., there doesn't appear to be one? The Alpina does looks nice though, but it may sadly end-up having to mingle anonymously amongst the many thousand old models out there.

I think the RRS can sleep soundly in bed. 6/10 BMW.., should've done much much better!!! Neutral MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs

Sport is out next year.. usual thing for Bmw to bring out SE's followed by Sports later.. deeming SE's to be completely unwanted and keeping up demand for the model. (i am facing this issue as my coupe is an SE and now sport is out may be harder to sell mine on..)

X5 3.5d is going to be the pick of the range! 280+ Bhp etc.... will definitely want a go in one of those..

Engine-wise, yes the 3.5 would be the one Kam, and you'd certainly wait to get in Sport. But the car itself still looks like a big profiterole.., where's the radical new styling that EVERY other revised model has enjoyed? Sure, they dont always get it right, the 3 series is proof of that, but it needed modernising to cast-off that staid mumsie image!

I certainly wouldn't ditch my sexy, mean-looking RRS in favour of this Bavarian alternative.., and I'm a BMW fan! Whistle MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs

Yeah I still think a TDV8 Sport chipped would be much better purchase for resale and desirability..

Im a Bmw fan (obviously) and i think the new design ethos being unveiled on the concept M7 model in the mags this week, means the next generation Bmw's will be excellent to look at again.. but i don't think im a huge fan of this X5 either..! Just too Q7 ish..

Surely not MPG, must be L/100kms otherwise an S/C FFRR would be more economical to run than an X5 diesel.... and we know that ain't true 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I haven't seen the figures yet, but the diesel surely can't be as low as 11.3mpg???? From the top end petrol V8 maybe....

Apologies fellas, it IS indeed kpg, or 25mpg.., but I always got 25mpg anyway around town in myold X5 so once again no quantum or discernable improvement.

My whole point is that this new model smacks too much of the old model.., it's no nore than a crafty facelift and needed a whole lot more to create new or renewed interest!!! Whistle MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs
