United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I may be seeing things, but I'm pretty sure my filler flap alignment issue has got worse since I took delivery. The flap seems to have warped outwards at the top and bottom edges.

Also, I find it really odd that the electric charging flap is not lockable - I'm just waiting from some young srcote to stuff the charging point with chewing gum "for a laugh"........

I'm pretty sure mine have got worse too. When the car arrived last summer they both looked OK, but it's more noticeable on both sides now.

As I understand it, it depends when the car was built. The cap ‘sets’ in line with the season it was manufactured - warmer months will be fine in warmer months and colder in colder…

Laughable…what a stupid design flaw.

Not sure how that theory works as mine was built in Sept 24 (saw it at factory) and didn’t fit at the end of the production and still doesn’t!

The shape means the rear of the flap does not align flush to the mechanism hence outside shape is out from the body.

We have a new Evoque as well and the flap aligns perfectly inside and out.

Have a new one on order as did @Scrumps who is waiting for painting and fitting.

Hi,

My car was built 10th Oct 23.

Here’s the original flap.

New flap is on fourth re-paint due to poor quality and then incorrect colour.

@Scrumps - any update yet on your saga with repainting and fitting new flap?

Mine goes in on 24th for recall for BISC and if the flaps are now in stock they will test fit a new one.

just got my car back and both filler and EV doors have been adjusted (new spring).

The fix is not perfect (you can notice if you're looking for it) but much better

I'm taking mine in for a swap with a new showroom car - lets see if the paint matches / issue resolved.

New to the forum.

2023 D300 Dynamic SE

Thought I’d add myself to this list.

On my third flap
1st protruded at back
2nd Warped within a few days and had a bit of missing lacquer the size of a thumb print visible at a distance - so much for quality control!
3rd Ok when first fitted but slightly protruding now. Will have to keep an eye on it.

Had mine replaced with another flap from a showroom car - fit near perfect and colour match fine too - lets see how long it lasts - the painted panel itself, slid off the mechanism which was deemed fine - so a quick job to swap over.
