At handover of my D300 AB, I commented on the poor fit of the fuel flap door - it looks like it’s not latched when in fact it is.

The salesman agreed and commented that they had another one with a similar issue.

When I took it in for (back order) mudflaps to be fitted yesterday, I asked them to look at the fuel flap issue as the black showroom car was a perfect fit.

The workshops had a look and could find no issue with the hinge or latching mechanism, then in a flash of genius, they swapped my outer door with one from another car……..perfect fit.

It looks like my (and the other cars) outer doors are distorted (during the paint process?).

A new (primed) flap outer door is on order which will be colour coded at the dealer before retro fitting.

We’re not sure how widespread this issue may be, or if it’s just my OCD that the half open door was niggling, but if you have taken delivery of an L461, it might be worth a look.

The fuel flap fit has been mentioned by others on here when they got their L461, so it appears to be / have been an issue early on. Maybe LR have modified something to solve the issue. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have this issue on my MY24, it's booked into the dealer in December.

I noticed the same issue this week on my MY24. Looks like the flap is not quite attached correctly to the frame causing it to be misaligned. Will get dealer to take a look. How easy was it for the dealer to swap yours? Is there an easy way to remove?

I didn’t really notice to begin with, not until I got it properly dirty, but both of mine are a bit wonky.

I’ll flag it with a dealer at some point, once I’ve found one that can be bothered.

JDPRRSUK, they swapped mine for one that was a perfect fit, then swapped it back in a few minutes!!! My dealers is a two site operation so I didn’t see how it’s done.

Apparently it’s a two minute job to unclip and replace the colour coded door as they are sending a man out to do it at my house when it’s ready.

I’ve been told that doors are on back order till 18/11/23 so I expect one at my dealers by the back end of next week.

It’ll then need painting and Lifeshine Ceramafix coating (to match the car).

Scrumps - let us know how it goes when new one fitted. I went to dealer today and they said it was a known production fault but no fix had been produced yet as the molding needed to be reshaped. They also said all RRS will be recalled in batches and they had this from JLR direct.

I didn’t mention you specifically, but said a dealer had got one for somebody and was having it painted. They were confused about how you had got a fix and thought you might have just been shipped a replacement of the existing type.

I get the “production issue” if ALL vehicles have the issue, but they don’t.

The Santorini Black D350 in my dealers showroom is a perfect fit.

When they removed mine and fitted a different one, it was a perfect fit.

My dealer (I’ve used since 1997) , know nothing of a “production issue”.

I’m awaiting a call to fit the new one and then we’ll see. I did nearly suggest they might want to trial fit the replacement BEFORE painting, but that’s not my problem.

They have also received another cover for the other customer that has the same problem.

I have spotted another issue which is a production problem, but I’ll start a new thread on that one - my dealer is feeding it back as a H&S problem.
