United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red
L494 MY2014 Autobiography - Unused connector

Hello from a RRS newbie,

I am slowly discovering new things about my RRS Autobiography as I have now enjoyed its presence for about two weeks and have discovered this connector underneath the dash on the driver's side and near the accelerator.

I thought that the car had nearly everything specified on it and ask if any of you RRS experts out there can advise what the connector may fit to and is it something I can buy and get retro fitted?

You need to post a photo of it. It could be that it’s popped off something or what I’m thinking is, that someone may have removed the lower trim panel with the footwell light and that’s the light connector. Is it a 2 wire position plug? Do you have a foot well light? I’m suspicious as you shouldn’t normally see anything because the panel covers it all. 2012 5.0 SC AB

Do they fit a transport relay somewhere when they're on the transporter trucks? Might this be where it's plugged in? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Touch the pins together with a screwdriver, see what fuse goes and then you'll know Laughing

Thank you and yes that is a good idea about the fuse. I am not sure how I would easily find out which fuse has blown though.

Not getting too much luck with this question. How about I phrase it differently?

Can all of you fellow members out there that have a RRS MY2014 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography have a look at the lower dashboard on the driver's side and let me know if you have any electronic interfaces that are sited around the accelerator pedal?

The resulting list should then give me an idea of what is missing from my car and what this connector could be used for

Thank you

A highly probable use for this connector has been found. Thank you to PJBracer1

It looks like this model AB has the wiring already installed for a set of retractable Side Steps. If this option had been fitted, the switch would have been one of two by the driver's knee. (the other would be the electronic hatchback opening switch). This switch would have then been in close proximity to where this connector can reach.
