I haven't yet, though I do trust him and what he has said

I don't think i will have the car as a long term thing to reap the rewards with engine wear etc, but mainly down to the fact i would have to put something else in to the tank instead of diesel each time i fill up and i can't be bothered with the messing about measuring it in to the tank etc.

I don't think it would be a warranty issue as the quality of fuels and additives can change from forecourt to forecourt.

I sure it will be fine in a RRS engine, if you ask he would inform you of the correct 2 stoke you would need.

I have an old Fiat 445C Crawler tractor. The old Italian boy who drives this for me has been putting 2 Stroke oil in the tank for as long as I can remember and it’s a common additive among the locals.

I did quiz him on this one day and his response was a smile followed by Tutto Bene! Thumbs Up

Unbelievable!! I tried this last week. At the moment I drive into the country every week a combination of some freeway (about 60km) and country roads at average 100k/h give or take slowing down for small towns etc. 300km each way. I normally average about 30MPG. On the way back last week I added 300ml of 2 stroke oil (semi-synthetic) and added about 3/4 of a tank of diesel, and then drove the last 150km to home. When I got home I checked the average consumption and WOW 39.6MPG. I also noticed the engine is MUCH more quiet we cold. Not sure if I'm dreaming or not, but, I also felt I had a little less acceleration around town when pulling of a stop light etc. Should this go away with time and the acceleration improve? I have a 2006 RRS with 40,0000 on the clock. Then after driving around town for a week I was still seeing 30MPG for city driving!! All in all a very successful test 2006 Black/Alpaca, Hi Ice, Dynamic Pack, 19" wheels, Clear Pack...

Hello Chaps,

i did a post last week on the subject.

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic11789.html

I've got loads of people onto it.

Wilkinsons (UK) is the cheapest place I can find to buy it.

Dont forget you need JASO FB or FC or FD rated oil.

Another nice benefit....when towing my caravan , the front stays clean....very dignified.

You are spot on with the noise from cold. My wifes A4 is so quiet we are finding niggly squeeks and rattles.

Keep tipping it in !!

To be said in the style of Victor Meldrew: I do not belive it!!!!!

I put in 500mm of semi synth low burn output T2 in my tank today and I am impressed, performance is better, noise is reduced, smoke is less and mpg better. Bow down

Another win for rrsport.co.uk Mr. Green

I have been doing it for a while now at the 1:200 concentration suggested. A couple of tanks ago, I was in a hurry and I didn't put any in. Since then, MPG is down by about 0.5lit/100, cold idle noise and smoke have both increased.

I am just waiting to burn down this tank to stick some in.......

..... but, at £6.00 a litre .... using one third of that per tank ........ does it make financial sense

Does it really help fuel consumption enough to make a financial gain?

Has anyone done the numbers? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

mercuryl,

It doesnt have to be 6.00 /litre.

Wilkinsons in the uk are selling it for 1.99 for 600ml....1.20 per fill depending on how ow you go.

Its way cheaper than injector cleaner or diesel treatment.
i can see an improvement of 15-40 miles per tank which offsets the cost.

It runs SO much better I cant see a good reason to stop using it , financial gain isnt really the main reason for adding it. I find I can get back the cost of the oil in saved fuel.

There is an ebay seller offering 15 x 1litre bottles for about £2 per litre.

That would keep you going for a bit.

Good luck
