I don't think it will do any harm from what I have read on freel2 link on page one of the 2T thread on here

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Hi folks,
All of this is jaw dropingly wearied.
In the late 60s/early 70s, as a teenager, I had a Saturday and holiday job at a garage .
The owner engineer ,I'm sure, was an advocate of putting oil in the fuel tanks of the cars he owned.
I do remember quiet clearly a head gasket blowing in one of his morris minors. After stripping it down he made a point of mentioning how clean the piston tops and valves were compared with other engines he stripped regularly.
Now, could that oil have been 2 stroke oil?
I know all of his cars ran on petrol, which of course, contained lead.
Something protected his engine because I was witness to others that were heavily carboned.
Interestingly,I have always used 2 stoke oil mix in my petrol mower. I have had it now for 20 years without a spanner touching it.
Is that the work of 2 stroke oil?
