L320 Changing the rear anti roll bar ace unit

Can anyone tell me what is involved in changing the rear anti roll bar with an ace unit, I have just changed my front ace pipes, and I had also ordered the back pipes but have noticed the back ACE unit is leaking badly, I have got a replacement bar, would like to know how hard a job it is going to be.

Thanks for any help you can provide me with Lot of Landcruisers now sold

Rear bumper off
Disconnect rear body dampers
Separate body from chassis by 5-6 inches or so

Gives just enough room to slide the bar out 1 side

Thank you, do you just have to remove the two back body mounting bolts. I have not got to it yet, all front pipes are almost on but can't get the one that looks like some sort of quick connect, I have pulled it pushed it and twisted it but it doesn't want to come apart. how the flip do they separate.

Does it actually come apart ?,,, I maybe wrong but that looks like a connection from hard pipe to Flexi which I thought were permanent. I understood that the front pipes came with 2 or 3 Flexi pipes attached. 2010 RRS, TDV8

It's hard to see but the part at the bottom of the picture is the conversion from rubber hose to steel, the
next part which is straight is the conversion section which has a rubber seal where it ends, the next section with the step change in size is the part that plugs into the coupling then there is a bracket.

I have the new part as I bought a full set of front pipes, 2 of which are steel and the other 2 are part rubber, one goes to the fill pot in the engine compartment and it's just a push on and secured with a pipe clip, the other is the pipe in question which I thought would be easy but I can't get the old one off

The new end has what looks like an internal C style clip about 5mm in and you can see at the very end what looks like a "O" ring, to me it looks like the new pipe end should just push on and seal against the "O" ring and the "C" clip just keeps it in place. Lot of Landcruisers now sold

Evening Frax.
Im in exactly thre same position as you.
Have cut the old flexible pipe down to the crimped fitting and made an adaptor to go in a slide hammer.
The fitting rotates easilly but will not pull of the steel bend.
The internal clip looks the same design that holds a drive shaft to a CV joint.

The pipes push together, and the black collar slides into the joint, releasing the C clip. Quite fiddly until you get used to them Thumbs Up

Hi, I was thinking of cutting it along the edge with a dermel and then try to split it, the dremel sadly is a bit short, your sliding hammer might be better but was not sure if it would damage the part that slides in, I have hunted but cannot find the answer to this fitting, it's a right pain in the ****, please let me know how you get on, I won't get back to mine until Wednesday, my one also spins easily - it's a pain in the rear end Lot of Landcruisers now sold

Hi Disco Mikey thanks for the reply, I have not seen a black part, does it slide into the fitting to open the "C" clip where the rubber seal is.

I thought they just pushed together and locked into position.

Is my black bit on my one just rusty Lot of Landcruisers now sold

It's not apparent at the moment, but the seal is a metal clip, covered in rubber. The seal/clip slides inside the pipe fitting, and releases the internal C clip. Does take a few goes to release, as its fiddly

I've a spare ARC pump on the floor at work, I'll see if I can grab a pic today Thumbs Up

Your help is much appreciated; I did see something on another forum where they used a U shaped tool but it was not clear where it went, I did make one and tried to use it to wedge the fitting apart but had no luck.

What do you use to push the clip into the fitting, I would rather remove it the right way even if it is fiddley.

Picture would be great if you can get one Bow down Lot of Landcruisers now sold
