Do you manually lift it to the fully open position and then hold it and press the close button until the beep?

Yes, that's what I've tried doing.

Just out of interest do you have any fault codes showing, believe it or not there are 31 fault codes listed which are associated with the one piece rear tailgate, just thought it may give a clue if there is.

Is it something that has just started happening or have you replace something prior?
