P017 recall was a plaster. The actual fix is a new vac pump, the internal seals fail and oil migrates into the servo. The modified pipework does (apparently) slow it down, but doesn't cure it fully |

How do you have a catch can on a vacum? Is it sealed, and you just empty it now and again ? |

I think you may find that towbar recall was to check for wear in the tow hitch socket, if it was worn outside specifications I think they actually replaced it with a fixed towbar foc. they did not replace the rear cross members as a matter of course. Cheers Col |

yes - sealed unit with no vent - just check it now and again and drain is needed, but i doubt it will be needed and is a little overkill....even adding two more non return valves should be enough and i may just try that first and then check it in a couple of weeks for any oil....the vacuum is flowing towards to vac pump, so in theory there should be no way the oil can get back into the servo if non return valves are fitted..... |
