Gap - iid tool

Hi All.

I have a Gap - iid tool. Bought approx 3.5 years ago. works as it should.

It reads and clears faults as it should, and that's in a nutshell all I do with it.

However, pondering, should it be updated every now and again?
As we we do with our phones and pc's etc.etc.

I have my phones, pc's, iPads etc.etc set to update themselves. (Latest version).

What about the iid tool????

Anyone.

I’ve only needed to update it for specific ccf edits
Or if something odd about live data.

I have just switched from my second Defender L633 to a 2025 RR Sport L461 and have a GAP iid tool that I have used for many tweaks to the CCF settings on the Defenders to enable many things. On the UK Defender forum there is a sticky long thread with lots of instruction of working CCF adjusts, but cant see the same here.

Just posting to maybe help others as 2 adjustments made with the Gap iid tool using the same settings as used on the Defender have worked perfectly.

- Auto stop/start remember last setting
MultiCAN-566 MHLastUserMode =
Enabled

- Stop driver assistance resetting to HIGH
MultiCAN-889 GSR2 EU Market Ft
Change it to Non GSR2 Country

Changing these 2 settings mean that when re starting the car it starts up in same mode as you last had it set, and you can then turn the driver assistance or auto/start on/off as required.

I'm also going to change the seat belt warning to minimal which is quite good as dings 3 times when you start up and then remains quiet, good for when your moving around and in and out the vehicle and stops the constant ''ding ding''

Seat Belt Reminder
MultiCan-717 Front Belt Minder
Belt Minder change to = Minimal

Multican-737 Rear Belt Minder
Rear Belt Minder change to = Minimal

I would suggest the G4 Gap tool.

Buy from a UK supplier to avoid the unknown customes duty. Maybe Bell Auto Services, that is where I got mine from.

Hi Jools
Did you have to ask Patrick for the full ccf list for the auto stop/start file or is it on there as standard ,
I asked Patrick some time ago if it could be disabled with the iid tool he said no and did not mention anything about that file
Cheers Nige

Hi Nige, the option is in the Gap tool CCF file list when you go to the menu. I connected to the car, went to the CCF menu option and scrolled down to it. Didn't need to do anything special.
