United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
EGR valves 3.0 TDV6 2010

Some guidance required please, as I’m am receiving conflicting advice online.

I have faulty EGR valves on both sides, one stuck open, the other stuck closed.

I have been considering fitting blanking plates and understand that the ECU will need to be re-mapped. My car has a DPF.

My first question is, given the cost saving of repairs (my main motivation), should I go down the blanking route?

Secondly, if yes, does anybody here have a sense of what the re-mapping costs might be, I’m in West Sussex.

Many thanks, in advance.

I did read somewhere that the car would only require re-mapping if the EGR valves were removed totally. If they are just blanked off, they can operate as necessary but obviously, don’t actually do anything.

Whether this information is correct or not, I do not know.

There is another post about the 2.7 concerning EGR valves. Contact Bell Services for advice and re-mapping.

Thanks for your reply, as both sides of my car are non functional, I guess a remap will be required.

There seems to be lots of info on blanking pre 2007 2.7 cars online, but less for a 3.0 tdv6 with a DPF.

There’s a lot less on 3.0’s since they aren’t a slap it on and go fix. You’d need the EGR’s mapped out as well as the DPF (they work together) and then the DPF removed and “reworked” so it doesn’t clog. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Thanks for you guidance and thoughts.

It sounds like I need to bite the bullet and replace both EGR valves.

Many thanks.
