Tyre Pressure Warning Fault?

Hi

My tyre pressure warning light came on today, saying the pressure in the right front tyre was low. I checked the pressure and it was only a few psi down, so I pumped the tyre up to 33 and checked the car again but the light was still on? I drove off and went about my business, turning the car off and on a few times and driving at least 30 miles but the light is still on.

I am therefore thinking I have a tyre pressure sensor fault or an abs sensor fault? I had an abs sensor go on my last car and it somehow doesn't feel like that happening on the RRS.

I can't see any signs of a puncture either, which was something else that crossed my mind.

Has anyone else had this issue and what did it turn out to be? or am I doing something wrong? Can it be re set somehow?

Thanks.

On mine the TPMS warning light doesn't come on till pressure drop to around 25psi as previously let a couple of tyres down to see what it did. Having seen some sensors and not sure you can change a battery in them as they looked sealed in, so think it may be new sensor but not certain on that one. Might be worth checking the aerial/initiator bit wiring etc. inside the wheel arch, also would have thought a faulty sensor would log a fault code so they may need reading.

Cheers
Col

Swap a wheel front to rear or side to side & that will tell You if it’s the sensor or the detector in the arch.you cannot change batteries,it is a full sensor swap & if that’s the case I would get a full set (about £80) if ones gone the rest won’t be far behind. Andy.

Thanks everyone. I found out what it was today....

I noticed that the car was set to 'heavy load' for the tyre pressures, so it was expecting 37/38 psi when I was going to only 33 psi for max four passengers.

I reset the car to 'light load' made sure I was at 33 psi all round and the warning light has gone out.

Simple as that. Feel a bit stupid for not seeing that sooner Whistle but at least it means I don't need a trip to the garage.

Would have thought 33psi in the rears is a bit low, personally always run at least 36psi in rears.

Cheers

I'm getting this fault showing on the spare. The car is only six months old, & I've checked the spare & it's 40psi, but it warns it's low each time I start the car. current 2015 hse dynamic, grey.
