ACC / Disabling "follow mode"?

hello all

I have a MY16 SDV6 ATB with the famous adaptive cruise control (ACC).
are the owners of a MY16 able to disable the "follow mode" so that the ACC is only a "CC" (only cruise control funtion) with a "stubborn" holding of the cruising speed?

disabling by holding the "distance reduce" button long (3 seconds)

my dealer told me, that it's possible from MY17 and I am wondering if somebody of you is able to disable it on a MY16. if yes, do you know which SW do you have on your RRS?
(I can't really believe that's not possible on MY16 because I suppose it's just a SW-update)

why I am asking: the ACC functionality I don't like. If I drive (on German Autobahn) 160km/h on the left side and going into a left curve, on the right side is a truck - the RRS will slow down strongly.. I find it quite dangerous on such velocities..

Thanks!

I didn't think the follow mode could be disabled. Mine's a MY15, but will try it tomorrow on the highway and report back. --

Thank you naks Smile

Looking forward to hear your result

When you push and hold the reduce button for the distance, a message should appear in the IC that the follow mode is deactivated, or something like that... Range Rover Sport HST D350

No problem.

I'm assuming I can re-enable it the same way? --

Yes should be so. If you push the increase button, the acc should be reactivated.
If you google a bit, you will find that it's possible on the evoque and also ond Jags Range Rover Sport HST D350

Ok, I drove 50km to the physio and 50km back home, most of it on the highway, and I can report that this method does NOT disable the ACC.

I tried with the ACC on and off, and it made no difference. --

I am pushing up this topic..

Can anyone with a MY16 (or MY15) try to disable the follow mode of the ACC?

With the MY17 it works... Range Rover Sport HST D350

I do know that you can disable ACC and just have CC on the original RRS using an IID Tool or similar to change the Car Configuration File (CCF). Assuming LR still use CCFs, it might be worth seeing if your dealer, or an independent LR specialist, can alter the CCF for you. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for the answer
Then, you only have the cruise controp without acc permanentely?

My dealer can't help. He asked also for a SW update, but seems there is nothing for MY16

I thought a SW update of the ACC would enable the possibility to disable it.
It's the only thing which is annoying on my RRS Range Rover Sport HST D350

Even back in 2005 this was a problem with JLR’s ACC, I had it on my 2007 TDv8 and in winter the sensor in the front bumper would get slush/snow on it on the motorway and once the message “sensor blocked” flashed on the dash there was no cruise control at all, not even conventional non-adaptive. It seems that the JLR ostrich still has its head firmly stuck in the sand 12 years later....... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I've got ACC but unfortunately I'm nowhere near my car to see if I can disable follow mode. it's not CC but ISL might be an alternative? Ferrari F430 Spider F1
