MY17 Remote park Heat

Can any of the lucky early MY17 recipients confirm, or otherwise if the Park Heat function works regardless of whether it was specified? I'm aware it still shows as a circa £1k option but I have an email, via a dealership and supposedly from LRUK, that says it is a standard feature within the remote facility of ICTP, so contradicting their own website. Mind you, the website still shows the RRS as having the old 8 inch version on their 'Tech' page too!! Cheers

if it's the V8 diesel, then you appetrently will have the FBH even if youhavent specified. If it's the TDv6 then it would have the FBH apparently unless specified.

At least that was the case for the L494 generally it seems. Bodsys Brake Bible

Not sure whether mine has it, but I used the in control app this morning and started the car remotely while still wrapped up warm in bed. When I eventually got up, had a shower, had breakfast and went to the car, it was all defrosted and lovely and toasty Smile

Not sure if this helps but my MY17 Evoque with ICTP has this as standard and it is bloody brilliant

But Evoque has an electric cabin heater that comes on as soon as you start the engine - it is called a PTC - positive temperature coefficient heater however it does have some draw backs. On really cold days when there is a big electrical load the Battery Managament System will prioritise consumers and the heater is quite a long way down the list! You will get the head lights, heated screens and mirrors, electric power steering, heated steering wheel and seat heaters before the cabin heater on really cold days. But I do agree that it is a far superior solution for those mildly cold mornings. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Not sure if this has changed for the MY17 but mine heats up good and proper within 15 mins of the app calling for the engine to turn on.

On your MY17 does it actually start the car or just run a heater?

I have remote park heat on MY16 and have speced it on MY17 for 1k also. It doesn't start the car just runs a heater but have I just wasted 1k then ?

Starting the car is the better solution as it activates the front and rear heater screens aswell as in winter running the air con which the remote park heat doesn't do.

I did not pay extra for it - could be standard on the Evoque Dynamic but yes the car starts up and remains locked. The car is heated to the temperature you set on the app (mine is 22c) and yes the front and rear heated screens turn on too so in 15 mins a warm car with no frost - Mrs says its the best thing I have ever bought her Laughing

You can only run this for 30 mins max and once you reach the end of the cycle it won't work again until you go and manually turn on the car and then off again.

Got you so it's the MY17 evoque you refer to not your sport I understand now.

Looks like I wasted a grand then.

This is why I have asked the question... I have an email stating that the facility to change the climate settings is standard in the model I was enquiring about, in my case the SVR. As remote start is a facility within ICTP you's assume it would work in conjunction with the climate settings within the app? After conversing with the Sales chap we concluded that the £1k option would just be the previous version of remote park heat which I understand uses the car's remote as opposed to the app on your phone, which is obviously more restrictive and in my opinion, now pointless? Unless there is something I'm missing?!

My MY17 gets built in two weeks so can't wait.

On MY16 with remote park heat option you can run it from the app or a seperate fob you can also set it in the settings to run on its own via a 7 day timer. It did not start the car only runs a heater. You can not start the car via the app On MY16.5 and below if you didn't pay you could not do any of these things.

From what's said here on the MY17 cars you can start the car from the app and if so this is better for several reasons such as air con would run and cool it, front and rear screens would run and it saves money.

Maybe the lucky MY17 owners on here can look .

My MY17 Biography starts by using the APP. As stated in other posts, this starts the engine but keeps everything locked. Not only do the heated windscreen and rear screen come on, but the heated from seats come on as well. So, getting in the car on a frost morning of -3 is a joy Smile
I presume that in the summer, you can do the same, but with the air con, so on a hot day, you can get into a nicely cooled car Smile
I had the remote heater on my D4, you could either program it in the car, or use a remote fob. The app on the sport, in my opinion, is much better.

My 16.5MY switches on the pre heater via the app and switches to vent mode in the summer. If the new model year switches on the engine, this makes the option irrelevant in my opinion!
