I had this problem recently, sprayed the alarm switch all over with WD40, and that sorted it! |

My switch failed, so was shorted out with a split pin. Then my split pin started playing up, so the connector was cut off, and the wires soldered together |

I unplugged the switch and back in and it seems to have worked will have a better look in the morning |

I had the same problem. Cleaning the gunk from the switch helped for a wee while but problem eventually returned. I disconnected switch and did similar bypass as described by Disco_Mikey with a small piece of wire until I bought a new switch. £10 or £12 I think it was.
