Bonnet stopping car from locking

Despite numerous attempts to close the bonnet correctly ,the car won't lock?
Clear the message on the dash by pressing ok, still no lock?
I assume it's a sensor.
Any one know which one? Bow down Big Cry

Had the same problem, the poxy horn sounds every time you lock the car Evil or Very Mad

LRA came out and repaired it in 90 seconds.

The technician showed me that along the front of the vehicle where the latch hooks on to the bonnet (left hand side when looking at the vehicle) you will see a cable which disengages the latch like a bicycle brake cable, this had come off its holder. All you have to do then is reattach this cable to its holder using long nose pliers.

Sorry i have no pics but the great BOBBY may save the day. Very Happy

Hope this helps. TDV8 HST STORNOWAY ON A 58

The hood ajar switch is attached to the bottom of the right hand hood latch.

close up of the switch...

One of the reasons for failure of this switch is that some technicians may lubricate the catch under the assumption that this is good workshop practice. Some owners may be doing this themselves.

LR has issued a message advising against this practice. Lubrication of the bonnet catch is not called for as this may cause early life failure of the micro switch within the latch.

I had to "Hot wire" my sensor when it gave up the ghost on holiday, paperclip in the loom side of the sensor plug to bridge the connection, job done. RRS gone
