I think it would be handy to have a single post with as many 'how to' guides as possible as a first port of call before people ask the same questions over and over.

Obviously some of this will not be helpful when working on the RRS but some will be because of the shared nature of the components in both types. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hi, I have bought tow bar electrics from Duckworth landrover spares, VPLST0014. I am attempting to fit the loom at the passenger side behind the trim panel. I have got to step 8/9, and the instructions say to remove the section of loom and bin it, and replace with new loom.
Problem is I have a spare bit of loom which goes down to the bumper, and it is not unplugable. This is not the cable which is marked rear bumper and has the plug, but it is loomed in with the bit I need to remove.
Do I have the wrong part.
My car wiring loom has checked stickers dated 18/10/10, and was registered dec 2010.
