Makes you wonder when you look at what they put under the bonnet of the RS6 |

To put a V10 in a midsize car like the A5 would be faintly ridiculous.... good thinking Audi! It would leave the M3 in the weeds thats for sure. |

I suspect you were right first time S, an evolution of the V8.

Yep, that was always a problem with the RS cars... but they moved the engine back in the RS4, which is why that handled so well (within the limit at least). For that reason, I don't think the RS6 is the M5-slayer they hoped it had been... in real driving terms I still think I'd rather have the M5 although I've not driven a new RS6. |

Would the 5L V10 fit in A5/A4? If you look under the bonnet of RS6 it is one hell of a squeeze.

ST - your same questions are being asked also - the argument is AUDI have managed to squeeze both into The R8 (proto and test vehicles) so in theory I guess its possible. The other option is to use twin-turbo V8 however loads of guys say its just too much power for the current V8 so a new unit would have to be developed if that was the case

Isn't that engine the development from the R10 Le Mans car?

Yeah this is very consistent all over the net really.. i've been reading, V10 out of the gallardo.. or a turbo'd 4.2 V8... either will do nicely for me! 480 bhp would be the fastest thing i've owned to date anyway..
