He had to take the car to his local DVLA ( on trailer ) for them to inspect it and check paperwork and ownership. But Im sure if you look at the DVLA website all the info is there.  | ||

Posts: 4771 | Right, now the woman is saying, that the car had another original reg number, and they transferred KAM ** onto it, but all they have is the V5 and tax disc, correct me if im wrong but isn't this just a simple transfer then for £130 to another car of £85 to retention?

Posts: 4771 | My friend has just transferred the plate off his W reg rover 25 onto a new car, and he only needed to send off his V5 (in his name) and the application form for transfering plate. I think the car you're putting it onto has to have a valid tax disc and be registered etc. I am going to research this over the weekend and jump on it next week if its feasible. If its not, i don't think my parents would appreciate an old nail falling to pieces on the driveway!

I had bought it 11 months ago but didn't put it on come the end - just had to right off in order to pay for retention (£25 for a further 12 months) when it comes back I will drop it direct into the dealers.

It might be better and easier to get the presant owner to transfere it to a V778 Retention Certificate then you only have to change the Nominee details. The cost is £105 to get the certificate that includes all the fees but will cost an extra £25 to get you as Nomniee.
