Just got my motor back from the dealers, they have had it since Tuesday, they reckon they have stripped the front suspension down and then rebuilt it as per L/R instructions.

Guess what

Knocking Sound

i have a range rover sport 2006, with every extra you can think of, the machine cost me almost 60K. i took it in to the dealer, about the knocking sound i was getting from the front suspenion, they looked into it, and said they couldnt locate the probelm, and it may not be under warranty, as i a 22" alloys on it, and LR dont recomend that size for this car.
at that point i told him i have 2 of these vehicles, one is my wifes, with the std 19" alloys, and i have the same problem with that as well.
both vehicles went into LR in leeds, and were returned with the same problems.
this is disgusting from LR that they think they can get away with this, when i test drove this vehicle it was quiter than a mounse, now, every time i go over a amll bump, it feels like im in a fridge freezer with wheels.
if any one finds out what the problem is, please let me know asap, as my next step is to take this legal, if land lover do not get there head out of ther ASS.

Hi

I'm back for one more post

This issue has now been identified on customers vehicles via the EPQR system and customers vehicles have been inspected by LR engineering.

The result is that LR do now acknowledge that some vehicles can exhibit excessive ARC noise and have produced a fix which has been tried on several vehicles and proven to fix the issue in every case so far.

You will need to visit your local dealer whom by now should have "DVD 105 patch file 3" installed on their diagnostic systems, the new software contains a full update to the DSC system and now incorporates the addition of the vehicles steering angle sensor to the ARC system control sub system.

in rare cases the working of the system prior to this update may mean that the arc system bushes as mentioned here "RVU50011" may have some additional wear and replacement of these will remove any remaining excess system noise.

All customers whom have had this update and in some cases the bushes have since reported total happiness with noise levels.

It is also worth noting that those of you that have had the bushes already should seek this update immediately as it is likely the issue will return as your replacement bushes bed in.

Regards

VOR

I would only add that LR have yet to produce any bulletins or info to dealers on this issue so don't expect your dealer to know this automatically, so far only dealers that have been actively involved with problem vehicles are likely to be aware, although LR technical should now be able to advise any dealers unsure of this update.

VOR

PS ENVOY thanks for the vote of confidence my future posts depend largely on if I feel I'm falling on deaf ears?
