EPB Fault again - Should this be a sticky as per D3

The EPB started screaming like a banshee again this morning, only shuts up if i release it again. That will be the fourth or is it fifth time is has been seen to, twice for the squealing, and about 2-3 times in terms of not fully releasing.

So it has to be parked on a reasonably flat service and left in Park only until thursday when the dealer gets it in

Have many others suffered from this, should we now put it as a sticky thread for known problems Question

Cheers

Jim

My TDv6 suffered a lot from the screaching EPB but my TDv8 has not yet made a squeek (that's bound to make it start doing it!)

Zilch have you taken your RRS offroad because that is the only thing I can think of as to why my TDV8 doesn't scream, it hasn't yet been in the dirt unless LR have done a redesign of the system for more recent cars

Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

Tim, it has not been off-road since the last service about 6 weeks ago, when the EPB was cleaned, lubricated and whatever they do to it to cure the notorious binding that occurs every time i release it. It had a complete EPB rebuild last year and that still did not totally cure it, only the banshee wail every time i engaged the thing. I think along with the D3's there must be an inherent design problem.

Cheers

Seems a well discussed topic on the D3 site http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic14861.html

Cyprus 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Ours has just started doing it today.

Always parked on flat driveway.

Could be to do with the very dusty climate over here...

Bobby many thanks, be interesting to see whether they try charging me for the possible replacement pads due to excessive wear, due to piss poor alignment. It is in again tomorrow.

Cheers

UPDATE - EPB

Well the work was done at ALTO today, full clean and removal of dust build up, realignment, readjusted and SOFTWARE update to help cure it (not sure how it will cure dust build up). Apparently mine was the 3rd they had done that day at that dealer alone, so a common issue i would think.

Thanks
