Some light reading for potential MY17 buyers:-

The brown stuff is really starting to hit the fan at JLR....this is the tech that you'll be laden with. Even getting a CD to eject is now a problem for some!?.

Well one can hope that this was one of the reasons for the delay on the Sport MY17 model and that they have been working on a fix. My build date is the 2nd December, so I'm going to be optimistic that the Jag, which was launched in April, isn't a like for like comparison. Plus, reading a lot of those posts there is a certain type of person. There are also a lot of people with no issues, so I'll deal with it when it arrives. I'm used to owning Lotus cars as in addition to BMW / Audi, so I know what it's like with the Lotus being in and out of a dealer every week ! Laughing

They can't develop a system that can reliably eject a CD but.....

Back to basics first JLR! Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Discount

I have contacted my 2 local dealers about an order for a 2017my hse with Surround Cameras, Park heating, heated steering wheel and one would offer me no discount at all on the 2017 my and the other offered me 5 percent which I thought was quite good. Delivery date would be March.
Has anyone achieved 6 percent discount on the 2017 my in the UK?

Hi JJF701, I managed to get 5.8% off my MY17 order (discount applied to list + options but not on the service package), this had been offered to me by a dealer on carwow. I sent the quote to my local dealer who agreed to match the discount straight away.

Mine is a 2nd December build date (whatever that actually means) and dealer says they have an SLA of 10 days to dealer. Does that mean it's finished being built or started. 23 December is what they say they date is for in my hands, but say it will be sooner as they always are that time of year. I was on hold having had a 16.5 order for months so I don't think there are any sooner than this date to my knowledge as I couldn't have confirmed my order any sooner. Maybe some sooner in Nov is a dealer had allocation.

With a build date of 2nd December your car should clear the production line on the 3rd, it then has to go to a holding area for final QC inspection and will then be released to the dealership. One of the dealerships I have used in London sent their own transporter up to Gaydon to collect several cars built at Solihull and Liverpool and return them to the dealership so I got my car 3 days after it left the production line rather than the normal 10 days if the dealership uses the LR distribution system. I'm sure that your dealership will not want to have your car sitting in their storage over the Christmas and New Year period and will want your money before year end, they will also want to register it before 31st Dec to add it to their sales figures for the quarter and year............ bonuses get paid on EOQ/EOY sales figures! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Looking forward to getting your feedback post delivery! Fingers crossed that they have fixed the ICTP issues the F-Pace owners are seemingly still struggling with.

I read in this week's Autocar that the forthcoming I-Pace EV is to get the current versions of IC systems............ I would love a Jaguar EV to replace my RRS BUT not one with in car systems based on today's system that seemingly cannot be "fixed" and has so few apps that can be used with it........... hardly cutting edge tech in what promises to be a pretty cutting edge vehicle 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Hi all,

I've got an order in on an SVR for February delivery. Looking at the PDF produced by the online configurator it's saying 10" InControl Touch Pro.

I take it this identifies that it will be a MY2017 model? If so, are the MY2017 SVRs facelifted? Or is it just tech changes?

Thanks

Anything built after October 2016 is a MY17. You might have a MY17 built in 2017, as I have coming. The 10.2" screen is only on MY17 cars. 2017 MY17 SDV6 SE
