sorry have been quite busy today - found one from my wife's phone...
also as previously discussed in the thread - this map can be 'transferred/moved' to the instrument panel as well

Is the new sat. nav. any good, though, that's the $64,000 question (or £80,000!)

If it is the same as the one I found in courtesy Disco Sport recently, then no. It was giving very misleading directions through a city centre I knew reasonably well. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I have the same system in my MY17 Evoque and with a sim card installed it's fantastic! The traffic rerouting works very well but to make the most of it a data sim is necessary.

Allows you to use an app to send routes directly to the nav unit and the route will be ready when yiu enter the car. Also uses traffic management to use dynamic real time traffic routing...dealer told me its linked to google maps but not sure how true that is but works very well. Also allows direct search of a place using the internet e.g Mcdonalds brings up nearest stores with contact details and opening hours etc. Pretty similar to a BMW live system if anyone has had one.

Thanks, that sounds good. Do you have to buy your own SIM immediately, or only after warranty expires? Maybe a bit soon for you to say, but what amount of data would be needed?

The car does not come with a preloaded sim. I bought a THREE data sim from amazon and that allows EU roaming too. Oh the car also becomes a wifi hotspot when a sim is connected!

Here is the sim: https://m.mymemory.co.uk/product?p=46338&

Hello RRSMan,

I haven't bothered to get a sim yet - how much data does it need?
Got plenty of data left with my phone, it would be much better if the system can use the hotspot hosted by the phone or through the usb cables...

Unfortunately the system is unable to piggyback of your phones data amd needs a dedicated 3g simcard for full functionality. Not sure how much is needed but 12gb seems to be plenty enough!

Thanks for the idea of using a 3 data sim, super cheap compares to the normal mobile ones. Just bought a 24G one Laughing Laughing
Surprisingly it is almost the same price as the 12G one
