Turbo blown

Hi all my 2007 hse 3.6v8 has blown turbo and won't start any ideas what else is wrong

An all too common problem with the TDV8, a friend of mine had both Turbos go on his recently and it cost him £5.5K to get it fixed by a Landrover dealer... Shocked Shocked Shocked

Sorry to hear about your problem.

If the engine turns over you may be able to save it. If it won't turn over the cylinder(s) may be full of oil and the engine is probably toast.

Assuming engine is otherwise OK you will quickly find that fixing it is a major job and very expensive. The turbo is about a thousand pounds and replacement is a body off procedure about 7 hours labour in itself. It is essential to find and rectify the cause of the failure or the new turbo will go the same way. This can include replacing oil feed pipes and the intercooler. It would be false economy not to replace both turbos whilst the body is off. Unless all this work is done perfectly the problem will soon recur.

Think your best option is return to seller for a full refund and second best is fix under warranty and then get rid. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
