Some more things fixed

OK, touch wood, I seem to be having an OK time with my car, nothing majorly wrong with it and It has been back to the dealers twice in the last month for software updates to the heater, Logic 7 system (both VERY much improved) and also requested replacement windscreen wipers (noisy buggers), rear tailgate gas struts (a bit weak in cold weather), they also said it needed an oxygen sensor to help with cold starting and a steering shaft replaced.

Well, after the 1st visit, only a few things got done, they needed to order in parts. I ring up after my holiday and book it in, 2 weeks hence, they take the list of parts and even the part numbers off me, so they can get them in. Their driver comes to collect the car yesterday morning, job sheet has no mention of the tailgate struts...HOW MANY TIMES I ASK YOU!????? Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad

So, no surprises, they didn't get done cos they hadn't got the parts in, despite me giving them 2 previous visits and a 2 week window. CRAP.

The oxygen sensor also did not get done, but apparently because LR have issued a new Technical bulletin stating a SW update is required instead. I think that will have to wait till it's get's serviced. It's not bothering me.

Oh, and I had a brand new Freelander TD4, 06 plate, 900 miles on the ODO, it was nothing special, felt very cheap. Shocked

Heaven forbid I should keep repeating myself, but this is totally unaceptable service for a customer who has paid £10k, let alone c. £60k.

If this happened to me (Touch table...) I just couldn't accept it.

I know people seem to accept it as part of the LR experience, but I don't buy it.

It seems that neither BMW nor Ford's influence has improved quality, but that unfortunately they've inherited their notoriously poor customer service.

There, I've said my piece.......But I still love my RRS! 06 RRS TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony, PTI, Running Boards, Privacy, S/C Grille/Vents, Stormers, Tasmods, Black Badge Soon...

RRUK,

How did you get on with the FreeLoaner ? I have a new TD4 as well at the minute ( since Monday ) hopefully ( better had ) go back today!!! It is the worst thing I have driven in many years ( almost ever ) . Do you find it awkward to get in, hitting your head if you don't bend double to get in. Mrs MDP also knocked herself out getting out the passenger side!

Reminder to myself will not accept a freelander as a courtesy car ever - period Evil or Very Mad

If my car doesn't come back today - FIXED - I will not be held responsible for my actions

MDP,

Didn't knock myself out or anything but it was a DREADFUL car to drive, turning circle of a barge, noisy as hell, stiff steering, very clunk gearchange and snappy cluth, you wouldn't believe the number of times I stalled it.

I did put it to good use though, decided to clear some rubbish from the garden that had been there all winter, well, I didn't want to dirty my car doing it.
