Lemm/anyone else....my local dealer who is a specialist in in-car - said he can install digital TV, and dvd player to front head unit - which includes a box which allows you to view on the go etc etc - and that the cables etc are pretty expensive - said it would cost about £1000 for the equipment and £500 for the days labour.....I am very keen to get this done - but would like your view as to whether you think this is good value or not....

ask him to specify exactly what make/model etc you'll be getting for £1000... price it up yourself va the internet, then you should see whether the 1000 is justified for the equipment. re: 500 a day Shocked , this is why i installed it myself...

ps. trim removal kit arrived yesterday, so depending on the weather, i should be able test (play) with it on my RRS RRS First Edition S/C, Vesuvius Orange, Rear Entertainment, Alpine TUE-T200DV, Stormer Alloys. (+ 19" MTR's for playing in the snow!)

Is this a main dealer Nick? £500 a day for the labour isn't all bad then.... it's around £120/hr in servicing, so a day should come in at way over £500 Confused

ummmm... may have spoken too soon. On a few occasions, i don't get the AGREE button on my NAV screen... just a picture of LR's Logo. Also, no sound from the stereo...

is this a known issue, or (as i am thinking) its my cabling/install of NAV.TV that has Censored things up? RRS First Edition S/C, Vesuvius Orange, Rear Entertainment, Alpine TUE-T200DV, Stormer Alloys. (+ 19" MTR's for playing in the snow!)

NAV.TV

Hi Lemm,

Did you sort your problem with just the logo on the screen?

Did you integrate your ipod?

My Nav Tv setup was seamless

First of all, where did you buy a nav.tv kit for less than 500pounds please.
Second, you will loose some staples that hold the trim but not a huge issue, they are HC1 on the Microcat, everytime I Install on a car I loose 3-4.
The Kit I install from nav tv has plug and play wiring, even reverse camera interrup signal! And no need to source + or - since it comes from the OEM plug and play wiring.
I hope we are talking same kit!
I have to do another install next week, I will get pictures with light!
I installed a TV tuner with reverse input trigger so TV inmediately turns to reverse input with no switches!!BINGO!
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
JJB

sorry for the late reply... thought the problem was solved with time... boy was i wrong.

nothing failed for a considerable period of time... until this past weekend. Stereo will power on for about 2 seconds then turn off, NAV Screen will display LR logo for about 2 seconds then turn off... this keeps happening everytime i turn on the car/stereo. I think a call to LR is in order... Sad RRS First Edition S/C, Vesuvius Orange, Rear Entertainment, Alpine TUE-T200DV, Stormer Alloys. (+ 19" MTR's for playing in the snow!)

umm... maybe my fitting wasn't so bad after all.

RRS went to LR to fix no sound/display issue, and was told this was due to my OEM DVD system (thought he was talking about the DVD Player in the glove box, turns out he was referring to the NAV.TV unit). Informed LR to remove faulty item so at least i have a working radio.

So no TV/DVD on the front screen, but OK on rears... no problem, i'll just log a call with NAV.TV and find out if they will replace the faulty unit. But... it just failed again yesterday ie. no sound or display on nav screen.

Therefore original issue must of been with the original wiring, and not the NAV.TV unit.... i'll be disconnecting all OEM devices tonight (NAV.TV comes in two parts... audio & video) and will see if i get the system back. If not, i'll ring LR up knowing that they cannot blame any OEM on the re-occuring fault. RRS First Edition S/C, Vesuvius Orange, Rear Entertainment, Alpine TUE-T200DV, Stormer Alloys. How did it go with the install? would be interested in doing something similar myself.. Have just bought a TDV8 but no TV option, would love to get one installed. also have an iPhone that would be great to connect.
Would I be customer no.2?
