Getting back to your earlier post shmoogle……

Unfortunately, price is going to have to come into it, as we have a greenie as our minister for environment here at the moment Evil or Very Mad Censored Evil or Very Mad

So, from July this year the tax bands for annual road tax & Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) are going to based on emissions.

What that is looking like it’s going to equate to is a huge price hike for higher emission vehicles, a category which all Land Rovers are currently falling into.

From general consensus that’s going to mean for a FFRR registered after July 1st, the purchase price will go up by about twelve grand, a RRS by about eight or nine grand & D3 by about seven or eight grand.

Bearing in mind that a new RRS SE will currently stand you well over eighty grand Shocked

Not to mention that for the higher emitting vehicles the annual road tax for will increase by about a grand. So while it costs me 1,033Eur to tax my current RRS, if I register one after the July 1st deadline it will cost me 2,000Eur every year to tax it Banging Head

Shocked Shocked Shocked

That sounds good enough reason to me Shocked

A similar thing is being mooted here too of course, high emitting trucks entering Central London now have to pay £200 per day to do so... and yesterday you will have seen the ex-Chairman of Shell babbling on about how all cars that return under 35mpg should be banned.

Once upon a time, driving was a pleasurable endeavour. Alas no more, I fear Mad
