Evening everyone looking for some help and advice
My 2.7 rrs 2008/9 has developed an annoying problem.
When driving the revs have started fluctuating jumping up and down.
Gears all change fine and smooth and cruses along fine just the rev needle fluctuates.

Reading on here a lot of people say try dr tranny see if that helps
Not sure how to put it in on the drive and should I take any oil out first?

I know this would only be a temp fix but can’t really justify a £1000+ bill on a car I only paid £2.5k for
I’ve only got this as a stop gap till I get a newer sport so need to keep it going for about 6 months

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Like you say Dr Tranny is not a fix only a sticking plaster option, but if you're only keeping it 6 months. Equally something may fail if you are carrying a mechanical fault. Someone else will be along with additional info...... 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

It is very much a sticking plaster remedy and you might find it needs a repeat application depending on how much you drive it and how much the clutch plates are contaminated. But if it's a "6 months and scrap it" car then it would seem a worthwhile thing to try. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had the start of Torque converter trouble - symptom was vibration. My indie added Dr Tranny and that was Jan 2021 and 25,000 miles ago. All still good... 🤞

So, if that's your issue, it should be good for 6 months. Robin

Born and raised in So Cal. Moved to the UK in 2018 for a few years. Now in Poland and looking at moving back to the UK.

Well went through the steps today and tied the dr tranny.
Took about 5 mins in total and wow what an instant difference.
Did a 300 mile trip round today never missed a beat and no fluctuating revs

I will see how long it lasts and update on here

Just to add here, been having the same fluctuating revs which i understand means the TC is on the way out. Added Dr Tranny at the weekend and could literally notice the difference within 1mile...i only do the school run and haven't noticed the revs at all within the first couple of miles. I was another sceptic but it really is a miracle band-aid (plaster for Brits).

Only think i'll note, when putting the stuff in from the radiator method, i didn't draw enough out so hit problems - strongly suggest getting a 'bladder syringe' (marry a Dr and she will 'borrow' one for you) and draw out at least 60ml per tube you're putting in. I've only used one so far as doesn't seem to need the second that was recommended.
