ACE ARE YOU THERE!

Just bought an RR sport hse and one the faults showing is the ace hydraulic pump isn't working , apparently its had a new one fitted and so where is this pump please. The reservoir is full , but I get a feeling the suspension is soft and bounces a bit when manoeuvring slowly and braking . I also rolls slightly when cornering , would this be an indication a why it throws a fault.

Hi if a new pump was fitted was the system put through the bleeding process.I think there is a particular device that is used and a specific process.

Dynamic Response Bleed Bottle 204-591-01

Dynamic Response Control Box 204-591-02

Dynamic Response (ACE is an old name for a different system) effectively reduces the anti-roll function of the bars at low speed. This is to give low speed ride comfort (and also to help articulation off road).

Did you buy privately or from a garage / car dealer? If from a garage or dealer, take it back and get them to sort it out. They are legally required to do so - unless you bought it knowing it had the issue, of course. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Apparently the system was bypassed , but I feel if I can understand something about it it would be beneficial, as it is quite soft, works better in Sport mode , handling that is , wishful thinking don't know .
So looking for info

What year, what engine, in what way has it been bypassed, is there a warning light on the dash?

57 Plate V8 Diesel, sorry I dont know enough about it , but I was told that a pipe was replaced and the system was disconnected. Seems like the seller doesn't want to help , I have mentioned it and that was his explanation . I reckon I got it at the price that suits. If maybe I can start at the beginning I will either delete altogether or sort.

No warning light. Code Ill post , thing it was not connected. Amongst other things , Think I have been too trusting !

Hmmm, there was a chap on the forum recently trying to sort out a TDV8 with a leaking system. Wanted to remove it and was generally told to forget it. Wasn't the same one, I wonder.

When the seller said a pipe was replaced, I wonder if he's just connected the pump back to itself and so disconnected the system from the pump. If so, the anti roll bars won't be doing anything if they've leaked out the fluid.

Sounds like you need to take it to a decent LR indie (not a main dealer or a general/4x4 garage). Someone who knows the system and can hopefully put it right for you.

The anti roll bars are expensive but you can get OEM ones for half the price that LR charge for them. If's got a leaking bar, it might just be a case of changing the bar and then sorting out whatever "disconnecting" the guy did. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Soundslike a familiar story I was told. The Garage that the seller used was a specialist , but I think in order to cut costs , the seller by passed the cost and sold it as it was . I am going to get more information on this one.
Need a workshop manual!

Is there a guide somewhere that I can check out the Dynamic response system to see what's needed to restore it and get it working gain , there are no leaks but I just get C1119-09(AF) Hydraulic Pressure- General failure information-component failure .Where do I start and is there a pathway . Perhaps the whole thing needs to go to manual I not sure.

This is painful to follow...

Either:

Have a look through the manual, locate the components, and work from there

Or,

Take it to a local specialist, and let them assess the car...

Yeah , sorry its painfully for me as well , not knowing the system in car from the start , I've been sold a pup , not far from your area as well , mildly passed off! MY FAULT , JUST TRYING TO RECTIFY. Sorry for the shout !!

There were no faults on the dash , just in case you think they were there to see when I bought , the car , I don't think the seller expected me to see the faults on a diagnostic which I have. Amongst other things , parking sensors, aircon , aux heater, oh and fuel flow sensor where the engine went to fault overtaking and losing power! Sorry about rant.
