You have 4 pipes on the front right and 2 on the rear right.

Front 4 are

from pump to valve block.
Valve block to reservoir.
And 2 to the front roll bar.

Rear 2 are to the rear roll bar.

If you’re rears are as bad as the front you may want to change both sets. If they aren’t as bad it may be worth doing some deterioration maintenance (I would normally say preventative maintenance but that impossible on these pipes). 2012 5.0 SC AB

And this is what the pipe set looks like, different engined vehicles have different pipes so you would need the correct type. The ones here are for the 5.0 but malting list them all.

It’s also worth getting 2 of the clamps (I think it was 2) as mine just wouldn’t budge and I ended up cutting through the rubber to remove them. 2012 5.0 SC AB

weird thing though, last night the front pipes were £300, today they are £340. Ah wells.

I assume I need a filter from BritPart, and how many quarts of cold power steering liquid will I need?

Shall I just order another 2nd hand valve block and be done with it, I don't want the car really stranded on the side of the road since its not on the drive.

bleeding wise, I've seen people say they just run the car, top it up as usual and it'll sort itself out?

It's great news that you're making progress with this. I hope you got your pipes for the lower price!

Make sure you have a 38mm socket when you come to change the filter in the valve block. I had to buy one specially because I didn't have one in my set.

Concerning fluid, I would just buy 5 litres. You then have plenty for future changes, and also you can replace your power steering fluid too. Every time I do an oil change on my car, I drain and refill the power steering and dynamic response fluid reservoirs to keep the fluid fresh.

Apologies, I noticed a typo in my previous post. You need a 38mm socket for the valve block.

Concerning the fittings, I would get good quality fittings from a hydraulic specialist, not Chinese cheapies from eBay. Kev

If your profile is correct, and its an 06 car, the outrigger will unbolt from the chassis, so you won't have to lift the body at all

id rather raise the body tbh if i can. but the seller seems to think I wouldnt need to. we'll see either way.

to raise the body then I just undo the 1 body screw and start raising the body? or just enough to slide in the new pipes i assume

i already have a set of those trim tools so should hopefully help. i guess id be better off draining the system first. so i dont get power steering fluid all over the place.

I don’t think removing the one bolt will make any difference, there’s 4 or 5? On each side.

Deffo drain the fluid to save it going every where but you’ll still get some running out, you just can’t help it.

When it comes to bleeding the system, I ran the car for a while in sports mode before I got the parts to make my DIY kit. When I did properly bleed the system there was actually very little air left to bleed off anyway. 2012 5.0 SC AB
