Fault codes

Hi Lads

Manged to get the fault codes read on the Sport today after the Amber Suspension Warning light came up for the Suspension the other week.

There was a few Codes that cleared right away ,but 4 that wouldn't any help with how to remedy these would be appreciated.

1. C1A27 Air Suspension short to ground . Which I suspect confirms my Air Compressor is goosed.

2. P0405A
Both 2 and 3 are related to EGR faults, Would blanking the EGR's remedy this ?
3. P140A

4.B1A5618 To do with Traffic Data can't remember full fault details on this one.

Again any help greatly appreciated.

Jock Thumbs Up

Suspension code is either a dead compressor, or blown compressor fuse

Even with blanked EGR's, the codes will always be there. Once blanked, there will be no lack of power anymore

TMC code is logged when it has a poor signal. Very common. Ignore it

Re Fault Codes

Thanks Mikey

Think its definately Compressor as it had been really rattly and vibrating badly before fault light came on after starting. Now only a click at Compressor when started and light comes on.

EGR blanking is on the ' To Do ' list but still not done yet. still okay to run with these fault codes though I take it.

Cheers again for the help

Re Fault Codes

Hi lads

Replaced my Compressor yesterday with a like for like. Turned on the car and the Amber Suspension Warning light is atill coming on .

I am having the Fault codes read again tomorrow to see if it is still C1A27 Air Suspension short to ground Fault that is still up. Would this fault code still hold out the New Compressor until reset by a Diagnostics Machine to protect Electrical Circuit or should it have cleared Automatically and let the New Compressor work right away.

Cheers Jock Thumbs Up

Generally fault codes have to be cleared, then you can see any new or recurring ones. John

Suspension faults reset with an ignition cycle. If the light is still on, there is still an issue

That code is likely related to a blown fuse, especially considering the way in which the original compressor died Thumbs Up

Re Fault Codes

Sorry lads

My mistake on closer inspection tonight looks like the 60amp fuse has blown(really need to get new Glasses,it looked ok the other day Embarassed )

Will get a new fuse tomorrow and try again. Just need a new mounting bracket to replace the quite badly corroded old one.

Thanks again for all the help , will update you all tomorrow. Bow down Thumbs Up

As a temporary measure, the compressor will run, and pump the car up if the 60A is replaced with one of the 50A glow plug fuses Thumbs Up

Re Fault Codes

Cheers Mikey

Manged to get a new 60amp fuse this morning and fitted it ,Compressor appears to be working fine now Thumbs Up .Although I now have an Airbag warning light on dash that won't clear ,any ideas. Will try and get code read on it today.

Also don't suppose anyone would have a good old style Compressor Bracket thatt they are looking to get rid off. My own is mounting Compressor fine but feel it will need renewed in the not to distant future.

Cheers Jock Thumbs Up

Can plug the car in at the same time, see what the airbag light is Thumbs Up
