How do i go about this?..

OK Up until about 2 weeks ago ago I have not had any issues with my front parking sensors, the rears had the whole loom replaced about 2 years ago. My car went in for a major service and cambelts oil pump etc at the dealers which was completed in under a day. Since I've picked the car up, it was laid up for a few days as i wasn't well. But no I'm fine and driving it more the front parking sensors have become intermitant . One minute I'm reversing down my drive and all is fine the next I get the solid beep and the msg front parking sensors deactivated then you loose the rears as well but if I jab on the brakes or run over the cobbles it resets and starts working! Now I have listened to all the sensors, and you can hear all of them clicking rapidly. (front and rear) So im thinking possibly a loose wire/connection. Does anyonme know if the front bumper would need to be reoved to carry ouyt the service and cambelt change and if so do you thing the dealership may of damaged or not plugged something back in properly to cause this sudden malfunction. I hate to point fingers so would like to get all my facts in place before i call them up and explain to them that this has only just started happening since the service. They did do a road test and a health check and nowhere onm the paperwork haave they hilighted this issue, which persumbly had they of found it they would have said about it.

Any advice would be welcomed.

Dan

Call them and politely say "They worked 100% before it came for a service".
Be nice and hopefully they will get it back in and fix FOC Thumbs Up Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Sounds as though the connector isn't seated correctly, if you remove the offside (drivers) headlight you should be able to see the connector under where the headlight sits. Try cleaning the connection, you can get contact cleaner from Halfords.

The bumper does not have to come off, nor do the connections need disturbed

It's just a coincidence Thumbs Up

Malfunctioning sensors are a PITA. Spent a long time faffing about trying to fix mine to no avail, so ended up removing the fuse & now I don't get that annoying noise Very Happy

Admittedly they don't work either but then you should be able to park without hitting something in my opinion.

Had the same annoying issue on our D4, cleaning the connections worked, but it soon came back. Not a particularly quality unit to be honest. Rolling Eyes ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
