My RRS 2010 HSE TDV6 has had no problems with the battery until today, while parked for about an hour had radio on, went to start and nothing apart from flashing lights and low power warning on screen.

Get it on the charge overnight. No need to disconnect anything, but make sure the negative cable's on the ground point, not the terminal. |

There are ground points on the body just in front of the engine bay fusebox. It needs to be used so the Battery Monitoring System will see the charge - using the terminal would bypass this. |

No problem Richhad
Lost for Words Just as a point of interest, if a CETK battery charger were to be hard wired in where would the negative connection need to be made, the negative terminal or one of the earth points? Cheers Col |

Always negative then positive to disconnect, and reverse to reconnect; the reason for this is that the negative side of the battery is grounded to the bodywork - touch the body and the positive terminal to undo it and... |

Thanks Lost for Words, so disconnect Neg first, then Positive, wrap pos lead in cloth as someone on here suggested to prevent it touching any metalwork.
