Absolute rubbish - check the ampere hour rating of the two batteries and unless the non OE battery is massively higher (I.e 50% plus which I doubt) the charging current would be virtually identical - and certainly no more than the load on the alternator of running a flat OE battery with the lights and other electrical loads on the car.

JLR reSponse would be that they only recommend the LR one.

so.. is this confirming it IS a s h it stones? EDIT: they once told me the tolerance between the air suspension on each corner of the car, when on the flat, was.. wait for it... 30% of height value 30% 2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa 2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable ============ 2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8! |

You should not have a problem as long as you use a lead calcium battery, if you fit a lead accid battery you may find it plays up with Land Rovers (Smart / CAN controlled) Charging System
