Lexus can drop the ball too - the ISF that TG magazine have a long termer had to go in for it's service last month and one of the dealers didn't even know what it was Wink Add to that the dealer that did end up doing the service made a bit of a mess of the car (I think it was the seat leather or something got stained).... the guy didn't let on that he was a motoring writer, but complained to the service manager and apparently ended up getting a call later on from the Lexus UK MD to apologise. Goes to show there are two sides to every story.

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Unnecessary quote removed

My point exactly, everybody can have a problem it is how it is handled and resolved that last the longest in the customers minds, i had several issues but always without question fixed and i have also had correspondence from the MD of Lexus on an issue regarding the chemical they use in the chromatic wing mirrors taht when cracked leaked all down my door and stained the paint.

I find the comment on the ISF a bit difficult to understand as every dealeship had at least one in their showroom prior to launch.

Me neither, but then I suppose it's feasible that the service department don't talk to sales and I suppose there won't be that many ISFs in circulation to be turning up at service depts... Confused

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Despite a local dealer having sold several TDv8 RRS's and lots of TDv8 FFRR's when I wanted to book mine in for it's first service the response I got from service reception was rather surprising " I don't think we have ever serviced a TDv8 Sport" So my car travelled to London and CHPR (who supplied the car in the first place) for it's 1st service last October instead.
18 months into production of RRS TDv8's and they hadn't had one in for servicing............................ I wasn't going to be the guinea pig. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I see it as another arguement over BHP and finesse vs Torque sledgehammer.

The IS-F will rip up trees with that 5L V8 but lacks the delicacy of the more rev hungry, less torque endowed M3.

It's the same arguement as with the RS6 vs M5. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Agreed. In addition, BMW have been making cars that go round corners properly for years and Lexus don't have that heritage. Not sure I've seen a ISF vs M3 test yet, where the M3 doesn't win it. It remains to be the de facto small sports saloon imho.

A mate of mine rejected his Lexus, it did take a few months to sort, but it was the HO that resolved it not the local dealer. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

Agree schmogol.

EVO magazine run an IS-F long termer and claim the ride is seriously unresolved. In fact his kids call it the up and down car or something as the ride tends to 'pogo' a bit.

BM's are something special in the driving experience they deliver Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Well in my own track and road test of the M3, RS4 and ISF back to back, the ISF won for me - and that's all I care about Very Happy

RS4 - horrible handling and useless clutch (died after 2 laps)
M3 - useless brakes, didn't sound as good as the Lexus and I hate the image that goes with it
IS F - sounds glorious, and has all the toys as standard. Handling just great fun - with controlled power slides and generally a great hoot to drive.
