air con fan speed

Hi has anyone experienced this?

I find the air con after period time on auto, i switch to manual and face level vents (cause the auto is not blowing enough air in)...but i dont seem to be getting full power coming out of the vents even at full speed...

Dealer said they recalibrated the a/c fans...but i find that it happened again after the visit to dealer...
I happened by accident on some sort of fix, by dialing the fan speed back to zero and then back up...
and it then seems to blow at the right speed...

is this normal behaviour??

HI VA

Yeah full manual both lights off...i have selected about the 12 or 1 oclock position and middle (face level) vents. it acts like all the vents are closed and it is either blowing to nowhere or the fan speed is very low...
even when i put it on full power...there is a slow trickle coming out...

cheers

Had soething like that happen with an old 4x4 truck, the air duct had come off and was blowing behind the dash. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Yeah, or the duct is blocked with something? I'm sure it's a bit more complex on the RRS, but I had an airvent block on an old car and when taken to pieces was full of leaves... Rolling Eyes

dont know how the think they recalibrated the AC fans - what exactly did they do? me thinks thats just a bit of lip service - I'd imagine they just rebooted the software - or did they actually measure the fan speed using a strobosope Laughing

Restricted airflow can be down to many things - faulty blower motors / faulty blower fan resistor / restricted inlet vent when in circ mode / software fault (the easiest to diagnose). LR have a defined specification for airflow from the vents which the dealer should check for you - if they cant, then let me know and I will confirm the airflow specs for all vents for you and if you can get hold of an anemometer you can do a rought check yourself (and then show them)

If you need anymore info then let me know

Yeah thanks they were closed...

its like the system has decided that the air it is blowing is not the right temp so it decides to hold back blowing any air instead of the wrong temp...i set it 20 -22 c

Thanks ALL for your comments... Toyota Corolla...Sad((((

tastech - when you choose the fan speed yourself, it will ignore the temperature selection - this is for auto mode only - you should be able to override the fan speed
