I'll assume you used a TRW part, which is OEM. These are known to cause the exact issues you are experiencing

You've left a connector loose, probably one of those on the rear. They are awkward little  to get in |

The L405 suffers, and there is an active recall for it
The L494, as well as the Discovery 5 also suffers from exactly the same problem, but JLR don't recognise it as a safety issue

If the red warning light came on, you have a fault code logged
Try a different code reader, ideally something JLR specific and not a £20 OBD reader |
