For me it has to be the RRS everytime. I did drive an X5 once. It was quick, but that is all I can say about it. The Sport is better in every other way as far as I am concerned.

That would be my first thought too. A rattling heat shield above the exhaust. They are in several sections bolted to the underside of the body. |

Agreed. Remove the pads, roughen them again on some coarse grade wet or dry paper, coat the back with a liberal coating of copper grease where it contacts the piston and all will be well... ... |

Yes, you can bleed in the traditional way. You may have to bleed as far as the ABS modulator first, to get the fluid moving, then at the wheels.
If the fluid is dark it may well be master-cyl seals ... |
