It's a good question and you will not get an answer, which will be "the answer". That means: yes, more oil changes can help to avoid it, but you have no guarantee.

I have heard from a Discovery driver that the consumption will not fall to zero if a regen is ongoing. I am checking that point often but couldn't catch such situation..
