That's true Josh, my Mercedes SL500 did see the stealer a few times in 12 months.., but NEVER as much as the RRS has over the last 6 months. Having said that, I love the relaxing drive of the RRS and would recommend it over the rest! ![]() |

we had a testdrive recently of new sport tdv8... i must say it is WAAAAY slower then s/c one. Specially after 60-80mph.... we tried it against s/c on the speedway and the s/c was pulling miles away like a ferrari against fiat punto. LR does not sell tdv6 sports here so i never drove one.... but I feel sorry for those on tdv6.... sorry guys it must be really slow. |

tf9, nice to speak to speak you, it seems like ages,I have a TDV6, chipped and it goes quite well, no S/C power but it gets there quick enough for me. Im still waiting for a test drive in the V8 ![]() -------------------------------- P38 Range Rover Autobiography RRS 2.7 HSE Silver RRS TDV8 HSE silver FFRR Vogue black Disco3 HSE silver RRS 2.7 HSE silver RRS 3.0 HSE BALTI BLUE ______________________________ current vehicles RRS 3.0 L494 Autobiography Audi R8 V10 Spyder AC Cobra Landrover Defender 90 Landrover Defender 110 Suzuki Jimney |

Agree... But you can remap/rechip s/c as well, change exhaust system, air filter and supercharger pulley (all about 4-5k$) and get really fast car with 450+ bhp that will do 0-60 in ~6.3 seconds and have topspeed of about 160mph and the sound of a real beast. The big question is fuel consumption ![]() 2014 Range Rover Autobiography, Causeway Gray, Ivory/Ebony 2013 BMW 530d 2008 Range Rover Supercharged Vogue S\E, Java Black, Ebony. I just like the RRS becaust it is SPORT, it has great styling and sporty drive (with all those brembo brakes and stuff), so believe it should have powerfull dynamics to correspond it's name. I think rrs tdv6 is great car overall, but i don't get the idea of SPORT in it... FFRR would do better in this case, no? 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 2014 Range Rover Autobiography, Causeway Gray, Ivory/Ebony 2013 BMW 530d 2008 Range Rover Supercharged Vogue S\E, Java Black, Ebony. Exactly, I think economy is the real issue. Like most 4x4s, the RRS is just not practical in petrol. If performance is your main objective, get a sports car, not a 4x4. It may be nippy, but about as manoeuvreable as a shed-on-wheels. 4x4s have many qualities, but not racing, and really need to be diesel to be a viaible every-day option. With that in mind, the RRS is about as good as it gets! ![]() |

Here where your comming from, but there is still a market for someone like myself who wants the diesel, It is a shame that it didnt have the TDV8 from the outset, i lov the styling of the Sport and that and the drive was the big deciding factor for me over the FFRR

The FFRR is not sporty looking, it's old fashioned. Yes, a technically superior vehicle, but boring to look at and not pleasing to be seen in. The RRS combines modestly-acceptable performance with stylish good looks, comfort and economy, and a great car to drive. Yes, if the TDV8 had been available 12 months ago, I would've bought it. However, I'm still perfectly happy with the TDV6 and thoroughly enjoy the whole driving experience. If I wanted better performance, I'd return to a Porsche and NOT buy the SC, simple as that. But, like you Envoy, I'm a nutter behind the wheel and the limits of the RRS keep my licence and temper intact. ![]() Last edited by Brian Mason on Wed Mar 07 2007 11:23pm. Edited 2 times in total |
