United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Chawton White

A few brave souls in the US tried an "el cheapo", home-grown swap of the pathetic, underperforming active sub that comes standard in the liftgate of every RRS in North America - HK's Logic7 is stock equipment here. We all got excited for a second, but after much trying, the location was ultimately determined to be too boomy and prone to rattles to house any decent subs - except for the stock one which is not really decent and doesn't do anything back there. See this thread:

umbertob - you usually are a sane and intelligent chap but this thread has completely lost me! Wink 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

You should have kept the B10 JayMann! 4.8 litre. 375 bhp may be 25 down on the M5 but refinement is in a different league, and performance figures at least as good. 0-60 in 5 sec and the B10 was autobhan tested at 177mph (no limiter on the Alpina) against the limited 155 of the M5. My M5 was a real head-banger, and bloody dangerous! As you say, ALPINA NICE!!

United States 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

i looked at both threads i have to say the best solution that i found was the one i made

I made a custom enclosure out of fiberglass and its dynamatted inside as well as the rear of the enclosure. it completly molds on the driver side rear.

I willpost a couple pics of it

Wiring
Ran 2 gauge power and grounds and located the factory amp turnon wire so all amps turn on simultaneously

I installed and lc6 connected to the factory amp under the seat

the lc6 connects to two jlaudio amps that are sunk in the rear floor

i put in a black series jl 500/1 and matching 300/4

I ran all the stock front and rear speakers to the 300/4

I dynamated the outer door skins and spraylined the inner the doors sound great now they dont rattle nor sound tinny very tight and with the built in crossover i can run them higher without distortion

the factory sub i simply unhooked

I installed a 12w6 into the fiberglass enclosure i made

Sound
I can tell you so far the Sports i have seen with systems do not compare in sound just with these few upgrades.
A few of you that are in this forum have heard my truck

the bass is there can be controlled via the headunit and can be dialed in for the audiophile type and can be set free for those who want a mindtingling experience without feeling like you cheated on your spouse

i will post pics as soon as i get home later i can reproduce this box in a 10 and 12 single only for those who think you need more dont bother the single 12w6 will blow your mind

as per any enclosure you can find the measurements for the 12w6 on jl audios webpage if you dont like the jl gear you can install a different sub.

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=4

the box enclosure size is 1.15 cubic feet is a little smaller than required for the w6. also the box can be filled on the inside for a sub that needs a bit more airspace

I will post the pics later today 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Speedinnovation Custom upgraded supercharger pulley, exhaust, tv mod, smoked lights, smoked side markers, 23" rinspeed wheels, 315 tires all the way around, arden kit

Speed, you sure sleep a lot. Laughing Think I saw you today in old town Pas, you had that "On a mission - Last minute shopping" look on your face so I thought I would not try and stop you to check out your sub... But I still would like to see pics of the install if you have time to post them. Merry Christmas!

I'm the first to admit I'm a car audio luddite, but why does it seem that all these installs have to come with pink or blue lighting or whatever it is... Confused
